Sponsored Content Guidelines
East Bay Cyber accepts a small number of sponsored articles from companies whose products or services are relevant to IT and security teams. This page explains what we accept, how sponsored articles are labeled, and what we will not do. Our editorial coverage, rankings and comparisons are never for sale; see our Editorial Policy.
What we accept
- Original articles on cybersecurity, IT operations, privacy, identity, cloud and software development.
- Practical, accurate content that would be useful to our readers if it carried no link at all.
- One link to the sponsor's own site, relevant to the article.
How sponsored articles are labeled
- Every sponsored article carries a visible Sponsored label naming who paid for it.
- All outbound links in sponsored articles use
rel="sponsored", as search engines require for paid links. - We edit for accuracy, clarity and tone, and we may remove claims we cannot verify.
What we do not accept
- Link insertions into our existing editorial articles, comparisons or CVE coverage.
- Dofollow or unlabeled paid links, and articles written mainly to carry a link.
- Gambling, casino, betting, adult content, crypto investment or trading, loans, pharmaceuticals, CBD, essay-writing services, piracy or "unblocking" services, and anything illegal where our readers live.
- Content that attacks or misrepresents a named competitor, or makes security claims without evidence.
- More than two sponsored articles in a month.
How it works
- Email with your topic and the page you would like to link to.
- We confirm fit and send our current rate. Payment is by invoice, in advance of publication.
- You send a draft (or we write one), we edit it, and it publishes with the Sponsored label.
We can decline any request, including after a draft is submitted, if it does not meet these guidelines. Sponsored articles stay up as long as the article is accurate and the link is live.
